I hate purple

Not to be dramatic, but this project actually changed my life path. It was where I first realized I wanted to follow my passion for designing and styling interiors. A friend asked me to transform their attic suite into a furnished rental, and my first thought was, “I hate purple.” But with a quick timeline and limited budget, the purple walls were non-negotiable.
So, I took my cues from the rest of their home - colorful, graphic art collected from around the world, layered with warm, well-loved midcentury pieces. The project’s constraints became a gift: they showed me that I had the ability to pull inspiration from what’s already there, to listen to a space and let it guide me. In the end, we created something joyful and personal (and purple).
